This yellow-labeled, fair-skinned cigar isn’t too far from tasting like a tobacco laden fruit snack. With each puff, a tangy, citrus like sweetness wakes up the sides of the tongue and mouth. A salty-bitter quality quickly rests on the end and middle of the tongue, while a slight note of pepper mingles all around. The aftertaste is a fruit-like sweetness not-unlike sugar or caramel, but melon-like and orangey with a bit of that tang ping to it. Retrohale and you’ll get a smoke fruit sensation where the a smoky-woody taste comes right up to front, bearing its orange and tangy fruit in the aftertaste. Hold the smoke in the mouth and the taste of a smoked pear hints at the buds.

The aroma continues the fruit-like sweetness with a defiant citrus smell that pairs amazingly well with VS’s unique 5-year, 5-tobacco blend. This is where I feel the variant Cameroon wrapper complies nicely with this great blend without totally ruining its uniqueness. A nice sweet-smoked fruit quality carries a nice varying array of other notes including cocoa & caramel and maybe even some botanicals.

The Cameroon Series 55 is a great variation of this line. It’s sweet, but not in the usual sugar or caramel way, and the original flavour of the aged tobacco blend is still quite pleasant to provide an excellent varying range of tastes & scent that make this thoroughly enjoyable.
