The final stick from the My Father Cigar’s farm sampler from Pepin Garcia, this time with a wrapper from Mexico.

Initially at first light, a mouthful of smoke delivers a light pepper, something common with most of these Pepin cigars so far, but this one quickly fades nearly away for the duration of the smoke. A dry smoke texture carries a smoked-meat taste with a sweet citrus to it that remains on the tongue in the aftertaste. Retrohaling brings out more of the smoke taste but with a woody character, leaving behind a cocoa powder sweetness on the tongue with some of the citrus still. Exhaling through the nose delivers a pepper cleansing that’s not too unberable.

The aroma is warm to to the nose but without any pepper and carries a deep, rich herbal tobacco scent with warm cocoa powder and chocolate notes. Not sugary sweet, but a nice earthy sweetness that’s deep.

I really enjoyed this cigar; it was a consistent smoke but well tamed and packed with a deep richness. The Mexican wrapper seems to combine very well with the Nicaraguan tobaccos for a nice taste and aroma. Is it with nearly $100 a box? Not really, IMO, but I would like a 5 pack for sure.
