I discovered the ad on Tuesday morning, November the 8th. Pac-Man arcade game for sale in Pennsylvania, lowered to $325! The video goes out after being on for a while, and then plays blind. A quick peek at my PayPal account, and a private message to the seller that I’ll take it. A quick phone call on pickup time details, and a PayPal transaction later, and Pac-Man will  be mine to pick up Saturday morning.

Saturday pickup was a long one, but well worthwhile. Borrowing a pickup from a friend’s father made hauling it a lot more easier and confident than using a trailer, especially going up and down through PA’s hills.

And it was a successful trip home!

 
Time to plug it in and see if it survived. Yep! Later that night, we played a couple rounds of doubles, but eventually the video crapped out. But we knew that may happen, it was still a lot of fun. Time to order replacement kits and get this game upstairs.

This is the fourth game we’ve moved upstairs, however I made the dumb decision to lay it on it’s side and not the back. Pac-Man is too wide to fit through a doorway like this, so while it was easy to push up the stairs, I had to pick it up at the very top, with the cabinet hanging over the landing, holding it while rotating until the side faced the doorway. Killed a few wooden floor tiles in the process, but nothing major happened, thankfully.
