So I finally put up pictures from this amazing LAN. I really took some shitty pictures, not enough people pics or shots of the stuff that was going on. I was actually busy gaming!

I did enter a tournament. Quake 3 4v4 CTF. I hooked up with 3 other people there to form a pretty decent team considering we never met before. One of the members was Skeezis of Planetquake fame, along with Pmac and Shifty. We were Team PQ, PlanetQuake. We 0wned the first team 0-14. Second team we came out 4-1. The third game 0wned us, 0-18. Ouch. It was fun though, I thought the tournaments were well run. The xgame serves were rock solid.

What would any LAN party be without network issues? The LAN died for a couple hours on friday. The staff had good effort to get it fixed. Lots of rumors were going around as to why it died. Apparently had to do with Steam (for counterstrike losers) port access & some Windows Server 2003 people. It was a DHCP issue. Why the fuck are people using Server2k3 for a gaming platform anyway?

Man there were so many free giveaways going on there. Odd contests, throw-outs, company reps wlaking around handing out stuff. I got a free Red-UV Reactive Rounded IDE cable from the guys at XOXIDE. They were pretty cool, they’re responsible for that big, square aluminum UFO case you see in my gallery I think.

Some good CoD players are out there. Amazing to watch a couple people play with a rifle like it was a Quake 3 railgun. Impressive headshot accuracy & reflexes. Thankfully not too many of them there in all. 😀

I did manage to get a Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory game up, and it was quite fun. Unfortunatly it was also very late on Saturday (around 5:30) that I got too tired to play it any more.

I did get a nice copy of Quake 1 FuhQuake and played Team Fortress Classic on that. Never played TFC before in that but it was fun. It’s always neat going back to the old games like this. Makes you appreciate how FPS’s have advanced.

Unreal Tournament 2004 Demo was hot all the time at the lan. No tourney for it, but there were always active servers for it going. I played it often enough, learned a good deal of interesting strategies for Onslaught. Yeah I love that game mode so much. Can’t wait for the full version of this game! I have mine pre-ordered through ebgames.com with their special offer & packaged deal.

Yeah, everyone was cool there. I didn’t see any ego or bullshit attitude from anyone. All the staff, including the company reps there from the sponsors (excluding the red-bull people) were all gamers, so everyone had a desktop.laptop to play in the games. Everyone having the same interest really kept the atmosphere strong for gaming.

Man were there some evil fucking Quake 3 players.
