So the local store had this stuff back in stock, both the Punk & Hardcore. And I don’t remember which one I preferred.

While this imperial ale does contain a hoppyness, it’s not as potent as other IPA’s I enjoy. It’s a mix of a bitter sourness with a malty-sweet & sour flavour that almost seem at odds with each other in the final result. While the initial quaff does present the hops and the sour that’s associated with IPA’s, the aftertaste isn’t really that enjoyable when this sweet & sour taste takes over, completely clearing that great bity hoppyness that I love from the palette.

This isn’t a bad beer, and might be good for someone who doesn’t care for overly hoppy beers. It is potent though, so it’s not an easy going brew. But I think I may have enjoyed their Punk IPA more-so.

We’ll just have to find out, now won’t we. 🙂
