I’ve only had one dual-wrapper twist cigar and it’s one of my top 10; The Lovo Magnum Twist. The two different wrappers just deliver an amazing taste & aroma that pure joy. So I was really looking forward to this dual-wrapped twist Cuban Stock cigar found at SJ’s Cigars in Philadelphia, PA.

The first third’s initial puff is quite a peppery one that quickly hits the mouth and goes right through the nose but this quickly mellows out, where the initial draw will deliver an instant tang on the tip of the tongue while a creamy sweetness covers the rest of it. A very nice blend of laether, pear, earth and tobacco is present. The aftertaste melts into a milky smoothness with salt on the edges of the tongue, and a light pepper in the back of the throat. Retrohaling and holding in the smoke cooks this concoction to a nice smoked sweet meat sensation, and kicking up the pepper a bit which is very noticeable when exhaled through the nose.

The aroma is heavenly with a distinct note from the dual wrapper also found on the Lovo Magnum Twist I love. It’s sugary sweet, but not like in a pure cane sugary sense. Layers of milk, smooth chocolate, pear, earth and herbal tobacco blend equally in the aroma as in the taste. The sweetness carries with it a nice nip of pepper, which can be a bit hot right under the nose. Idling, the Exquisito produces a very warm, rich sweet scent with a hint of the sugar and smoked fruit.

I love dual-wrapped cigars. Compared to the Lovo Magnum Twist, this carries more variety in the taste and the aroma with a definite pepper that the Lovo simply does not have. Both are highly enjoyable and have sweet uniqueness thanks to the two wrappers. Just a great cigar and I will buy a box, and look for more cigars in this wrapper style!
