I’m on a hunt for Corojo’s, I’m enjoying them immensely along with my other favorite cigar type, the Habano. And this Dark Corojo is the best of both words for me, nearly combining two of my favorites!

On a puff, the smoke smoothly and lightly fills the mouth with a very subdued presence that’s quite…airy. An immediate smoked meat taste coats the inside, and after a moment of holding the smoke, several parts of the tongue come alive with a range of tastes including a sweet caramel and chocolate, a tangy bitterness on the front, and pepper on the sides. Retrohaling actually tames the slight pepper and smokeyness into a smoked citrus-sweet flavour and goes easily through the nose. Overall, the cigar is a mild, easy-going and smooth tasting experience that changes and evolves very nicely through the smoke. A nice milkyness also comes out occasionally in a longer aftertaste. The overall taste melts away very nicely.

The aroma is nicely layered with a rich, warm caramel & sweetened-milk scent that’s easy going on the nose. It’s rich scent idles nicely where more of a deep chocolate like aroma comes out, as well as a very nice tobacco aroma. Some herbal layers as well as a citrus note come and go.

While I may feel this is a mild and nearly full-bodied cigar with some similar Habano traits, it’s not a full habano of course. But the darker wrapper does give it a nice, deeper body & aroma than a lighter Corojo wrapper from my experience. Overall it’s a very easy going cigar that enjoyable blends all the tastes and aroma very well without a real harsh pepper some Corojos usually have. While I do like this cigar a lot, not certain if I would purchase a box of them, but certainly a 5 pack is in the near future.
