My next subject in the VS Sunday Sampler, a bamboo stick!

Unlike a real bamboo stick, this one is rather soft to the touch and light to the taste. In fact, the taste is lighter than most VS’s I have enjoyed so far. Far from anything harsh, peppery or hot, there’s only a light woody-sense and possibly cardboard taste from collecting a mouthful of smoke. Retrohaling reveals more of the woody taste. The aftertaste leaves a nice, rich dark tone on the tongue.

Like the other VS’s, the aroma has a sugary-sweetness to it, albeit comparably mild in this cigar to other VS’s. Look a little deeper and I find a slight pear scent hiding amongst mostly herbal-tobacco scents.

On their own, the aroma and taste are light, but offer a nice easy smoke that’s perfect for a sunday morning, a non-heavy cigar smoker, or better still, a chaser after a heavier cigar, especially due to it’s lighter sweetness. It’s a one trick pony that holds up through the entire smoke, which isn’t a bad thing for its usually under $40 price per bundle.
