So I’m in this clan called Tao. I’m in their Unreal Tournament 2004 Onslaught competition team. We compete on TWL.
In the Downloads section here you’ll find Unreal Tournament 2004 Onslaught demo recordings from my client in matches I play in.
Our most recent match was against Outsiderz, we won all 3 matches. They’re good guys and put up a fun game.
My performance on the first map, Severance, started out horrible. I couldn’t even get ontop of the Manta correctly. I definitly got way too nervous/anxious/caffeined before the match. I pushed for some practice DMing early in the day for two reasons. First was assurance that my new mouse settings were best for me (0.65 sensitivity in user.ini). Secondly I was hoping to get comfortable and avoid having a mind-dump in the match. It almost worked. Towards the middle of Severance I got relaxed & comfortable again, but my aim was shit with the instant-hit weapons. You’ll see me futily shooting at a Raptor with the Shock Rifle and missing… A lot. I also lost my bearings on this map and really fumbled around in the Manta. Hitting walls.
The second map we played, Frostbite, I was definitly on. I had an instance of lag at the start which was odd, but outside of that, things went good for me. I pulled a Svarog and shot at our own Tank & Flaked the Powernode as we were building it. But that was the extend of errors. I was top scorer on this one so I’m happy. =.=
We played the 3rd map, Torlan, for fun after winning the previous two. Monk got off to a good start piloting our Manta right into a lamp post. Damn those immovable objects. But things went pretty well on our end with our battle responsibilities. I made a few stupid dueling errors, but in those battles, I was more concerned with distracting them from building/attacking our nodes. It worked. Their team tactics were not as concerned with the nodes as they should have been. I got tank 0wnage in this map. Monk seriously scored at their Powercore base.
Overall the 2nd and 3rd maps I felt I knew what was going on with the overall battle. The first map my brain was totally not in the game. I don’t know how to work on this since it’s only a “competition time” thing. Hopefully it’ll go away with time, I really hate that.
